Shift trades
A person can offer a published shift on the trade board (from the field app or the console). A colleague who could cover it takes it, optionally giving another shift in return, and dispatch approves before anything changes. On approval, the shift changes owner on the roster immediately.
Where it is: Workforce → Schedule → Trades. Who sees it: people allowed to read shifts and the roster; approving or rejecting needs plan shifts and the roster. Plan: Workforce planning module.

A trade's lifecycle
- Offered: someone posts it with an optional note (Family event that afternoon). Waiting for a colleague to take it. Whoever offered it can Withdraw the offer.
- Taken: a colleague chooses Take this shift. Only people with the skills the shift Asks for and no clash can take it. Waiting for dispatch to approve it. Whoever took it can Give it back to the board.
- Dispatch's Decision:
- Approve: the shift changes owner on the roster immediately; if one was given In return, that one too. Both are notified.
- Reject: the shift stays with whoever offered it. A reason is asked (Coverage is too thin that day) that both read.
The trade's page shows Offered, Taken, Asks for, Note, In return (Nothing: a plain pick-up if none), Published, who Decided and Recorded changes.
Offering from the console
On a published shift's page, Offer on the trade board posts it in its owner's name. Colleagues who could cover it see it in the app.
